1. When was DMI established?
Originally, a part of the management services division of Ronald A/ Kawahara & Co., CPA’s, Inc., DMI was established as a separate entity in 1974.
2. How many projects does DMI care for?
DMI has grown to include more than 20 major projects and more than 10 full-time employees.
3. Does DMI manage individual units on a rental basis?
Yes, DMI has a rental management division to provide this service.
4. Is DMI accredited?
Yes, DMI is one of the very select few management companies in the entire state of Hawaii to be awarded the Accredited Managment Organizaiton (AMO) by IREM. We are also a member of the CAI. Our company has always maintained the highest level of ethical and professional standards. We adhere to the Code of Ethics promulgated by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, IREM, NAR, and CAI.
5. Do you believe in keeping with technology trends?
Yes, each year we spend several thousand dollars to upgrade our custom programs, and invest additional monies in new hardware and technology. Our investment in technology allows us to be very efficient in our operations and still maintain our management fees at a competitive level.
6. Do you offer training for your Property Managers?
Yes, we provide ongoing training for all of our Property Managers. In addition, we maintain excellent "backroom" support, with full-charge bookkeepers, accountants, and clerks providing necessary information on a timely basis. These include not only preparation of financial statements, timely payment of bills, tracking of delinquent Owners, rent interception, collecting and crediting Owners accounts for maintenance fee payments, etc.
In order to maintain open communications with Owners, it is our internal policy to answer all phone calls immediately, and to answer all correspondence, unually within 24 hours.
